Mil Truscott
Psychologist
MProfPsych, BPsychSc (Hons)
Mil Truscott is a fully registered psychologist with more than eight years of professional experience across private practice and not for profit sector settings. Throughout her career, she has worked with adolescents and adults presenting with a broad range of psychological concerns, with experience in mood disorders, grief and loss, substance use, and trauma. A special interest in the perinatal period, and more recently a focus on the journey of those with breast cancer has led to additional training to support individuals and their loved ones with these life challenges.
Mil’s clinical practice is grounded in established, evidence-based modalities. Mil has undertaken extensive training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness and compassion-based approaches, including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). Her work is further informed by trauma-informed principles and contemporary integrative frameworks, supporting nuanced, formulation-driven care tailored to individual presentations.
She considers herself an ally of the LGBtQIA+ and Indigenous communities, undertaking additional training to increase knowledge around service provision to these communities. Additionally, her understanding of neurodiverse-affirming practices supports a safe space for this community.
