Jordan Love
Clinical Psychologist
Jordan is a Clinical Psychologist skilled in assessing and treating teenagers and adults. He enjoys working with a diverse range of clients with various reasons for coming to therapy. Jordan takes a transdiagnostic approach, meaning he places importance on understanding the underlying mechanisms and experiences contributing to the diagnoses or unhelpful behaviours. He is passionate about collaborative, feedback-driven treatment and he values the process of building a shared understanding of what’s going on and what we can do.
In addition to his Masters of Clinical Psychology, Jordan has undergone further training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy – a psychotherapy founded in contextual behaviour science that draws on acceptance and mindfulness skills to support commitment to behavioural change – and Mentalization Based Therapy – an empirical psychotherapy focusing on understanding the thoughts, beliefs, wishes and feelings of oneself and others and how they link to actions.
Jordan has over five years’ experience working in the public and private mental health services including the headspace early psychosis service and private practises; he currently holds a post of Senior Clinical Specialist with Orygen Youth Health. Jordan is a board approved supervisor in clinical psychology and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency.
