Elizabeth O’Callaghan is a registered psychologist, specialising in working with adults and providing therapy to treat many areas of human suffering including stress, interpersonal difficulties, anxiety, depression, grief & loss, OCD, trauma and complex trauma.
She practices a combination of therapies, including CBT and Schema therapy, but she is particularly focused on working with psychodynamics and Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP).
Over the course of her work, she has had the chance of working with various types of people, starting with children and adolescents including children with autism. Most extensively, she has worked with adults through public health providers within the community and also through private practice.
She aims to work collaboratively with her clients to tailor the treatment according to their needs and goals, whether it may be symptom relief or deeper and meaningful life change.
Her approach is designed for those ready to break free from patterns that hold them back and are seeking deeper, lasting change.
In her work with her clients, she aims to get to the root of their struggles, uncovering and addressing the underlying cause of distress. Her goal is to help clients move beyond temporary relief and toward profound long-lasting change.
Clients who work with Elizabeth find that they not only overcome their symptoms but also gain a deeper understanding of themselves. This leads to more fulfilling relationships, increased resilience and a greater sense of peace.
