Matt is both a Physiotherapist and Exercise Physiologist with over 15 years of private practice experience. Matts main interest is in sports performance health and in the treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of sports related injury.
Matt has extensive experience in sport. He has worked as team physiotherapist for a variety of elite team sports including the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) netball program, Australian 21u netball team, Australia A & Jillaroos hockey teams and other professional sporting locums and touring (Swimming, Rugby Union, AFL, Taekwondo, World University Games). Since completing his undergraduate degrees in Exercise physiology and physiotherapy, he has completed research in injury prevention programming for netball as a post graduate scholar at the AIS. He has since completed a Masters degree in Sports Physiotherapy and currently undergoing a PhD looking into the relationship of health, performance and the financial burden within professional sport.
Whilst sport and musculoskeletal injury diagnosis, treatment and prevention practice is a large part of his clinical expertise, Matt has a keen interest in general wellness and functional medicine which is an area of interest he shares with his wife Caroline, a Dietitian. He enjoys meeting and helping patients from all walks of life to achieve their health, fitness or injury goals.
Matts schedule may vary during the AFL season but makes himself available twice a week at Body Dynamics Health Melbourne, based at Beingwell Healthcare in Prahran.
